dmi: Design Management Conference Europe, Amsterdam, 2016

I attended the the DMI Design Management Conference in Amsterdam, 23-25 May 2016. The theme was “Inside Out / Outside In” and focused on the ways in which the internal workings of an organization expresses itself through products and services, as well as how external influences can impact an organization internally. There was an impressive line-up of international speakers from various industries.

Keynotes were (amongst many others) presented by Abby Godee (VP and Head of Design, Population Health Management and Healthcare Informatics Phlips), Eric Quint (Chief Design Officer at 3M Company), Tobias Haug (Head of Design & Co-Innovation Center, EMEA at SAP). Furthermore, highly interesting panel talks were held by Kevin McCullagh (Founder, Plan), Paul Gardien (Vice President Philips Design), Kwame Nyanning (VP Experience Design at McKinsey & Company), Philipp Thesen (Senior Vice President Design at Deutsche Telekom AG), Christina Taylor (Head of Human Centered Design at Swisscom), Lennart Hennings (Head of Design Academy at Deutsche Telekom AG), Dr. Daniel Biedermann (Principal Business Consultant – IT Connectivity Daimler Trucks) and Bob Schwartz (General Manager, Global Design; General Electric Healthcare).
